Probiotics

The definition of Probiotics are live microorganisms thought to be healthy for the host organism. The currently adopted definition by FAO/WHO, is: "Live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host". Friendly bacteria are commonly consumed as part of fermented foods. Friendly bacteria can be found in small amounts in yogurt and soy yogurt. It is specifically added to some of these foods.

Acidopholus,Bifidophilus and other species of Lactobacillis are friendly bacteria necessary for colon health.

Although, Probiotics are not powerful agents for knocking out yeast, they do help. They aid in digestion and assimilation of some nutrients and may help produce vitamin B12 for the body.

Diaper Rash

Acidophilus, Bifidophilus and other species of Lactobacillis may be sprinkled in the diaper for thrush-related diaper rash.

Probiotic 11 has a powerful combination of

  • Bifidobacterium bifidum
  • Bifidobacterium infantis
  • Bifidobacterium longum
  • Lactobacillus bulgaricus
  • Lactobacillus brevis
  • Lactobacillus plantarum
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus
  • Lactobacillus salivarius
  • Streptococcus thermophilus
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Lactobacillus caseii
  • frutooligsaccharides

We also have a Chewable Bifidophilus for children.

A friend of mine, sometimes give a chewable bifidophilus to her dogs for a treat.

These products work best when taken first thing in the morning about one hour before breakfast.

You could also empty 3-5 capsules into a cup of room temperature water, dissolve and inject rectally using a bulb syringe.

You could also insert a capsule into the vagina using an applicator similar to a tampon applicator.

Diarrhea

Travelling Suggestions

Taking a friendly bacteria is especially helpful when travelling as it can help to prevent traveller’s diarrhea.

Constipation

An acidopholus capsule acts as a mild laxative for constipation.

I suggest to double or triple the normal amount consumed and take them with meals.

Take 1 capsule with any snacks.

Especially after antibiotics, travelling, vaginal infections, newborn intestinal problems and H.Pilory Rx. I recommend

  • A maintenance dosage could be 2 - 4 per day
  • To cleanse taking 4 - 10 per day
  • IBD/IBS taking 20 - 100 per day

Ailments and Conditions

Here is a list of ailments in addition to what I have previously mentioned that taking a probiotic could be helpful for:

  • Anorexia
  • Celiac Disease
  • Chemical Poisoning
  • Cold Sores
  • Cradle Cap
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Cystitis
  • Diaper Rash
  • Poor Digestion
  • Dysentery
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Fungal infections
  • Gas and Bloating
  • Colitis
  • Jock Itch
  • Food Poisoning

Another reminder that it is very important to take Probiotics after taking antibiotics in order to keep the intestinal system in balance.

Keeping healthy, that's our goal!
