Yoga refers to traditional physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines. Originating in India, whose goal is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility. The word is associated with meditative practices in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Just as we use physical exercises to improve our bodily health, Vipassana can be used to develop a healthy mind. Learning to clear your mind and watch your breathing is a powerful technique and takes time and training to learn. The results come gradually through continued practice. It is unrealistic to expect all problems to be solved in ten days. Within a ten day period, the essentials of Vipassana can be learned so that it can be applied in daily life. Transcendental Meditation Technique Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a simple, natural, effortless procedure usually practiced for 20 minutes, twice each day. No need to sit on the floor cross-legged, you can sit comfortably in a chair and close your eyes. TM is also known as Trancendental Consciousness. TM is not a religion, philosophy or a lifestyle. TM technique allows your mind to settle inward in order to experience the source of the thought. When you attain this level of peaceful consciousness, your brain functions with greater coherence and your body gains deeper rest.
