Household Mold and Your Health

Household mold is found inside spacious homes, small and large apartments, schools, offices and factories.

It is making people sick.

This may be contributing to the sick all over feeling that so many people with yeast overgrowth experience.

This can be called Sick Building Syndrome.

Molds (also spelled "moulds") are ubiquitous in the biosphere, and spores are a common component of household and workplace dust. However, when mold spores are present in unspecified quantities, they can present a health hazard to humans, potentially causing allergic reactions and when present in large quantities, other types of respiratory problems. Allergies that have developed from this fungus have always been a serious problem for many people. (Taken from Wikipedia)

Respiratory Problems

Respiratory problems develop because of mold overgrowth.

Types of Mold

~ Stachybotrys

~ Aspergillus

~ Versicolor

Some species of Penicillium grow in damp, dark places and often are hidden behind walls, under floors and above ceilings. These produce dangerous airborne mycotoxins.

Toxic Mold Symptoms

~ flu like symptoms

~ chronic fatigue

~ memory impairment

~ dizziness

~ bleeding nose.

Toxic indoor black mold can cause nasal congestion, sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma and other mold allergy symptoms.

Mycotoxins are caused by airborne toxins and can cause serious problems including chronic fatigue, loss of balance and memory, irritability and difficulty speaking.

Check for Signs

It is important when you are moving into a new home or a new apartment, that you check under the sinks for any wet areas or darkened wood.

Also, check the ceilings of all the rooms and even go as far as checking the attic boards for any signs of wetness or dampness.

Mold in Basement

Basements should be completely dry with no wetness of any kind.

Can you imagine the mold that must have been in the stone castles from years ago? I wonder if the people then suffered from fungus infections and other mold sensitivities, as they do today.
