Foot Fungus

A foot fungus called Athletes Foot is one of the fungal infections that is a result of candida or yeast overgrowth in the body.

Fungal infections are very different from bacterial infections. They do not feel at all the same. The symptoms of a fungal infection are very subtle and can be still passed on through the body by the bloodstream.

Fungal infections of the feet are particularly difficult to eradicate because fungi love moisture and warmth, making feet a perfect climate for their growth.

Athletes Foot Symptoms & Signs

    Extreme odour from foot

Red, cracked and or blistered skin

    Burning/heat coming from the inflammation

    Thick yellowish toenails

Fingernails can also become affected just like toenails

Causes of Athletes Foot

Candida overgrowth in other areas of the body, ie: intestinal tract, can quickly move into thrush, vaginal yeast, jock itch and athletes foot.

A general weakened immune system is the culprit.

Athletes Foot Treatment

Like other fungal infections of the skin, this can be treated directly. The internal Candida must be eradicated as well.

An entire Herbal Candida program, including Candida Diet, Antifungals and Probiotics would be part of this healing program.

Other Foot Treatments

    Wear 100%, unbleached, cotton socks.

Keeping them dry and clean and changing them often.

Remove your socks when at home, to allow your feet to breathe and stay dry.

Changing your shoes every day to a different pair allows each pair of shoes to air and dry completely before you wear them again.

Dust the inside of shoes with a layer of baking soda or anti-fungal powder to absorb any excess moisture.

Using soap on your feet, would not only sting, but removes the healthy acid layer of the skin. Just use plain water when washing your feet. Dry them well.

Rinse your feet in a mild solution of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and water mixture.

Foot fungus lives in a nice warm, moist environment, so you might want to use a foot powder on your feet after you dry them.

To remove any dead skin, just rub them gently with a dry wash cloth. Do not damage the skin as this could encourage more fungal infection.

Soaking your feet twice a day in an anti-fungal solution is best.

And/or apply anti-fungal solution and massage into foot, being careful to get between the toes.

Anti-fungal solution – 1 tbsp of coconut oil with 5 drops of tea tree oil, or clove oil, or garlic oil. This solution can be made ahead of time and there is no need to refrigerate.

Anti-fungal Gel that you could use is Silver Shield Gel by Nature's Sunshine.

Keep in mind, a Candida Diet is also necessary as this fungus is in your body not just on your feet.

Jock itch and ringworm are other candida symptoms in the body.

It takes time to treat this foot fungus, so please be patient.
