Your Digestive System
Most people do not pay attention to their digestive system. The digestive system is so sluggish, it is still digesting breakfast, when you are ready for lunch. Also, when you are ready for dinner, your stomach is still working on lunch.
Incomplete digestion can be a major contributor to the development of numerous disease conditions. Approximately 58% of the population is believed to suffer from some type of digestive disorder. We have developed bad eating habits. We get very little exercise. We don’t drink enough pure water and don’t get enough fresh air and sunshine. During my practice I have seen clients who go for days without bowel movements and have suffered such abdominal pain most of their lives. They have never found a way to resolve this. It is my hope to help you with that. If you are one of those people who need help, I will suggest herbal supplements, probiotics, special diets and recipes to assist you. My purpose is to teach you to be responsible for your own digestive system. The stomach needs certain minerals to maintain good health and learning to eat properly would help with this. Hippocrates said "Let food be your medicine, your medicine be your food." Digestive dysfunction can lead to nutritional deficiency and unhealthy bowel flora. With the pH balance compromised, yeast can develop. Incompletely digested macromolecules can be absorbed into the system circulation (the bloodstream). Undigested protein creates an environment for unfriendly bacteria in the colon. This toxicity will be absorbed by the body. People develop: They must go on specific diets, either for a short period of time or for the rest of their lives. A Food Combining Diet would be a healthy alternative to try for at least three months. Here are some of the Symptoms that appear if your Digestive System is out of balance. constipationexcessive gas stomach bloating protruding abdomen fatigue allergies skin breakouts mood changes body odour bad breath gaining weight brain fog heart burn I remember the very first seminar I attended with Dr. Bernard Jensen as our teacher. I am sure many of my colleagues who attended this seminar remember this well. It has stuck with me and I have shared this with many clients too. The topic of this seminar was Iridology. The bowel is such an integral part of our digestive system and shows up in the eye very prominently that is always included in an Iridology course. Here is What Happened The first morning, Dr. Jensen said 'Good Morning' to us and we all yelled back with enthusiasm 'Good Morning". The second morning, Dr. Jensen greeted us again in a similar manner, we all answered back with less enthusiasm. The third morning, Dr. Jensen greeted us again with his morning salutation. We made a disconcerted effort to say 'Good Morning' and it really must have sounded like a 'moan and a groan' because he then said to us all... 'so you are all suffering from constipation this morning' After sitting for three consecutive days, with very little exercise, not enough proper food and enough pure water, most of us were suffering from constipation, even to the point of abdominal pain. We learned from experience how important it is to drink lots of water, exercise and eat well. I have written a more comprehensive page on the digestion process and digestive enzymes, that you will find very interesting.
