Candida Die Off Symptoms


During a Candida Die off program some people experience severe symptoms as soon as they begin doing the candida elimination program of any kind.

Others experience only a slight discomfort and avoid candida die off symptoms all together.

My focus on this website is to help you combat a body cleanse and any overgrowth of yeast through proper diet and natural remedies (a separate web page for natural remedies). My advice is to make gradual changes so as not to overwhelm your body, so you experience as few as possible candida die off symptoms.

When the body is cleansing, toxins are released. These toxins consist of dead and dying yeast cells and must be eliminated during this candida elimination program. The elimination channels in the body are capable of ridding your body of these toxins.

These channels are the liver, colon, kidneys and lymph which are going to be working overtime and may need some more assistance. You could feel overly tired at this point. This is very common.

Candida die off is sometimes referred to as the Herxheimer Reaction. The following definition is taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. "The Herxheimer reaction (also knows as Jarisch-Herxheimer or Herx) occurs when large quantities of toxins released into the body as bacteria (typically Spirochetal bacteria) die, due to antibiotic treatment or rapid detoxification'.

Some of the symptoms you may experience while doing a body cleanse could include

    dizziness

    headaches

    depression

    anxiety

    gas and bloating

    diarrhea

    constipation

    joint pain

    muscle pain

    general body aching

    sore throat

    tiredness

    sweating

    skin breakouts and more

Some dietary changes are going to be important for you to continue on your healing path. The most important is to stop eating the refined carbs and the junk foods. Once you get used to going without the refined carbohydrates and the junk foods, it seemed (to me anyway), that it was easy to go without them.

My experience was that I gained more control of my nutritional eating rather than my emotional eating. You may experience the same. I hope you do too.

My portions of fresh vegetables, especially green veggies increased and I still ate fresh fruit, but less of them.

It is important to include a substantial amount of pure water and fresh veggies and fruits as they have more water in them than animal protein and junk food.

The general rule for the amount of pure water to drink in a day is to take your body weight in pounds divide by 2 and the answer is the number of ounces you should drink. ie: 140 lb. person divided by 2 = 70 oz. of water. That's a little over 8 glasses of water per day.

Eat lots of plant foods, raw if possible for your digestion system. If you have trouble digesting salads and raw vegetables, you could put them in a blender or juicer. As times goes on and your digestive system strengthens, it may be possible for you to take raw veggies easier.

Dark leafy greens are very important to include in your daily diet. I include Nature's Sunshine's Liquid Chlorophyl as part of my daily regime.

Some of the darker greens include kale, collards, spinach, dandelion, parsley, chard and mustard greens. I make a lot of leafy green soups, which I blend after they are cooked.

Mustard Greens

Spunky and soulful describe the taste of mustard greens that add a pungent, peppery flavour to recipes in which they are featured. Although they are available throughout the year, they are in season from December through April when they are at their best most readily available. (These months are certainly not growing months in Canada!)

Mustard Greens are the leaves of the mustard plant, Brassica juncea. The leaves of mustard greens can have either a crumpled or flat texture and may have either toothed, scalloped, frilled or lacey edges. In addition to providing wonderfully nutritious greens, this plant also produces the acrid-tasting brown seeds that are used to make Dijon mustard.

You are now beginning a new regime (I don’t like the word ‘diet’) towards eating healthier foods that will nourish your body. Your body will eliminate toxins that are causing the candida or yeast overgrowth or imbalance in your intestines while totally benefiting your immune system and you will feel so much better.

I know I make it sound easy to change your diet, get through some of the candida die off symptoms, which you may experience, but you can do it.

Coconut Oil

There are some natural products, foods and herbs, that also have antibiotic properties and have been used for generations with some degree of success to help with Candida die off.

I have had a lot of inquiries about using coconut oil for Candida.

The fatty acids found in coconut oil are powerful natural antibiotics.

A healthy human will have abundant intestinal bacteria, which can cause candida. A drawback to using antibiotics is that they generally kill both good and bad bacteria. Coconut appears to be another food that can kill these organisms, perhaps far better than any of the other natural antibiotics.
