Candida Diaper Rash

Candida Diaper Rash and Skin Rash

A skin rash is any red eruption of the skin. It may be localized to one part of the body or a much larger area.

Diaper Rash

The symptoms of a candida skin rash, looks evenly red and puffy all around the baby’s bottom and genitals.

What Causes Diaper Rash

It can be caused by prolonged dampness and the interaction of urine and feces with the skin in the diaper area. Most babies at some time, while still wearing diapers will get some form of diaper rash yeast infection.

This warm, moist area of the skin will allow bacteria and fungus to grow very quickly. The skin becomes red and can even crack or bleed.

A Candida diaper rash is more severe and is very red, small red bumps on the outer edges of the rash.

This rash may be caused from yeast, which thrives in a warm, moist environment and can occur if baby or breastfeeding mom is on antibiotics.

Nowadays, doctors are not using antibiotics with children under two, unless absolutely necessary. This same type of yeast can also cause thrush in the mouth.

Diaper Rash Treatments

First and foremost, remove any irritants that might be causing this rash.

Use warm water and not hot water when bathing and bathe frequently.

Mild and fragrance free soap. Pat the skin dry rather than rub.

Avoid scented wipes or lotions.

Let the baby go diaper free for periods of time, in order to let the air help keep the area dry and heal the area. Remove the plastic pants, as they continue to hold the heat and wet next to the affected area. Baby Daniel This is a photo of my friend's new grandson, having his morning sun bathe.

Change the baby more frequently.

Nature's Sunshine has a product that I would recommend. Silver Shield comes in liquid form and in a gel.

When using Silver Shield Gel to the diaper rash you will be able to kill the cause of the diaper rash in the first two hours. The redness and pain can be remedied in as little as five minutes in mild cases.

A thin layer of Silver Sol Liquid sprayed on the inside of the diaper and allowed to stand for about two minutes will help prevent a diaper rash.

If you prefer another gel to use would be Nature's Sunshine's Aloe Vera Gel is a gentle and skin healing product.

Aloe Vera Gel makes an excellent hand and body gel for yourself.

I would also recommend opening a couple of capsules of Flora Force and using that as a 'powder' if there is a thrush-related diaper rash.

Washing The Diapers

When washing cloth diapers, it is important to put them through a complete cycle rinsing first, then do a regular hot water wash cycle.

If a rash persists or gets worse, it would be beneficial to visit your doctor or health care professional.
